Arthur Hapgood of Lymington

Arthur Hapgood was born in Lymington on 26 October 1843 and was the sixth son born to George and Sarah Hapgood. He married twice. First to Ellen, who born him two children (that I know of): Arthur Henry (b. 1875) and Florence Maud (b. 1878). Ellen's maiden name is not known nor is the date of marriage.

After Ellen's death at the age of 37 in 1881, he married Ann Budden Corbin. There appear to be no offspring from the second marriage. The date of their marriage is not known.

Arthur died in 1898 in Lymington. He is buried in the churchyard at Lymington Parish Church together with his first wife Ellen and his daughter Florence Maud, who died at the age of only 4 months. Arthur's second wife appears to have left Lymington after his death; she died in Ashford, Kent on 26 March 1926.
